Bob HartmannWELCOME MESSAGE The telecom expense management market continues to change and evolve. Market consolidation continues and most TEM providers are now supporting both fixed and mobile services. The traditional providers have expanded their services to include business process outsourcing for bill verification and payments, provider negotiation, consulting on sourcing, and device management. The market is moving away from single-country service offerings to meet the needs of multinational corporations. In addition, systems integrators are taking a greater interest in providing their clients with TEM services. Even major telcos are entering the market. With telecom expense accounting for up to 20% of an enterprise's entire IT budget, telecom spend can equal 1 to 2% of a company's total revenue. The TEM area is ripe for greater focus within a company, and effort should be devoted to this cost saving opportunity, either by internal staff or external consultants.
