Vaughn Hovey
-

Vaughn Hovey is a Lecturer in The Ohio State University Fisher School of Business teaching Strategic Purchasing. He’ll be facilitating the Strategic Sourcing Forum for the Fisher Center of Operational Excellence Members.
Previously, he was with Nationwide Mutual Insurance as Associate Vice President & Chief Sourcing Officer responsible for Strategic Sourcing for all indirect goods and services representing over $2.5 Billion of annual spend. His unit led the supplier relationship management program and increased annual spend with diverse suppliers, increased the amount of spend under Sourcing Strategies, improved the percentage of purchases with formal purchase orders and dramatically increased annual savings.
Formerly, Vaughn was with Eastman Kodak Company where he held a number of management positions in Manufacturing, Purchasing and Materials Management, Corporate Sourcing, and Information Systems. He was Manager IT Supplier and Alliance Management and Director, Data Center Services leading the ten-year agreement with IBM. While Manager, Corporate Sourcing in 1987 he was responsible for worldwide contracts negotiations for silver, computers, and software. Earlier assignments were in Purchasing and Materials Management responsible for over 1000 people providing purchasing, production planning, warehousing, receiving, stores and investment recovery services to manufacturing and business units.
He graduated from the Ohio State University with a degree in Production Management and also attended the Duke Advanced Management Program.
He was a CPM-certified member of the NAPM and was also certified as a production and inventory control manager from APICS. He is a member of the National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP). He was a finalist in the 1999 “World Outsourcing Achievement Award” and is a frequent speaker at National and International Conferences addressing effective management of IT alliances, managed services and strategic sourcing.
This is Vaughn’s third year as a RMMY judge.
Cathy Hyatt
Cathy Hyatt is the VP of Enterprise Vendor Management for Franklin Templeton Investments. Cathy is responsible for the design, implementation, adoption and improvement of Franklin’s enterprise-wide vendor management capabilities. The program provides sourcing, contracting, negotiation, vendor performance management and risk management guidelines to a global group of 300 vendor managers. The program also develops and provides training on negotiation and vendor management and governance processes. Cathy is also responsible for IT sourcing, procurement, asset and vendor management, and serves as the lead negotiator for large vendor transactions. Prior to Franklin, Cathy was a Client Executive with EquaTerra, where she focused on outsourcing transactions and vendor governance.
Cathy has a BA in Computer Science and an MA in Organizational Transformation.

Donald Mones
-

Donald Mones, Vice President at The McGraw-Hill Companies has been involved in all aspects of outsourcing and delivery of IT services for over 20 years. His background has focused on developing partnerships with global outsourcing companies to deliver the highest quality products and services. His areas of expertise extend beyond the technical services into integrating global culture awareness, communication improvements, and activities to enhance global outsourcing partnerships. Many of the areas that Donald is actively involved with include implementation of best practices in Offshore Development Centers (ODC), Application Management and Support (AMS), and Infrastructure Outsourcing (ITO) services.
His current role at The McGraw-Hill Companies is to facilitate outsourcing activities with internal business segments of The McGraw-Hill Companies, and to work directly with global technology partners in the following disciplines; project management, service delivery modeling, infrastructure & capacity planning, resource availability and planning, customer satisfaction surveys, security assessment rating, operational utilization, cultural awareness training, disaster recovery and business continuity planning
Donald joined The McGraw-Hill Companies in December of 2003 as Senior Director, Global Operations and Infrastructure. Prior to joining The McGraw-Hill Companies Donald was a consultant working at JP Morgan Chase, IBM, and held various leadership positions at MetLife, Deutsche Bank (Bankers Trust) and Instinet. This is Donald’s second year as a RMMY judge -
Doug Plotkin

Doug Plotkin is a Member of PA’s Management Group. In his 17 years of experience he has participated in all facets of the outsourcing transaction, including Business Case Development, Pricing, Service Level Development, and Negotiation Support, and has worked with clients all over the globe. He is a regular conference speaker on these subjects, and has advised corporations in a wide array of industries, including Travel, Finance, Energy, Pharmaceuticals, and Retail. Doug joined PA after working within the sourcing groups at META Group Consulting and IBM Global Services.
He has an MBA from Wharton, a master’s degree in physics from UTAustin, and a BA from Hampshire College.
Helen Truesdale
Helen Truesdale joined Barclays Bank PLC, a major global financial services provider, in January 2010, as Head of Supplier Management for Barclaycard. Prior to joining Barclays Helen held various leadership positions at Capital One Bank (Europe), most notably as Head of Supplier Management.
Helen holds a degree in Purchasing and Supply and has been involved in the development of outsourcing deals and the development of strategic third party relationships within the Financial Services sector, for circa 12 years. Her discipline is in Supplier Relationship Management, with a key focus being the development of collaborative third party relationships that focus on the optimisation of value for both parties.
Her current role at Barclaycard is to create the vision, strategy and objectives for the effective commercial management of Barclaycards’ strategic and operational supply base. In addition, Helen is leading a significant transformation programme that will change the way in which Barclaycard works with its’ suppliers, ensuring global scale is leveraged and delivering excellence in execution at a local, regional and global level.
Joe VanLoy

Joe VanLoy has more than 22 years of experience working with large organizations to fulfill their business vision. Joe has competencies in large-scale IT, Finance, HR and Procurement outsourcing and governance.
While at EquaTerra, Joe has supported a number of organizations in improving service delivery.
» Governance Organization Design & Implementation: Developed governance strategy, directed stakeholder management plan development and execution, designed integrated governance processes, planned governance and retained organization, implemented key governance committees.
» Transaction and Implementation: Led successful BPO Transactions contracting of IT, Finance and Accounting and Procurement functions, (as large as $550 million) including scope development, due diligence, transformation and transition definition and planning, governance, retained organization design, outsourcing scorecards and SLA development.
» Governance and Relationship Diagnostics – Developed and refined survey, interview and documentation analysis to assess and provide improvement plans for healthy outsourcing relationships and those requiring remediation.
» Executive Coaching – Provided one-on-one outsourcing and governance coaching for governance and C-level executives.
Prior to EquaTerra Joe held various Senior Director positions with Best Buy in which he oversaw and managed outsourcing engagements, established governance processes for HR, Finance and IT executive leadership, and led outsourcing processes to define the scope, identify solutions and select partners.
While with Arthur Andersen, Joe acted as CIO for a $250 million public company. Joe also oversaw multiple client engagements, including managing and directing technology solutions and implementations; refined and directed overall business and technology strategy; and executed management and reporting controls.
This is Joe’s third year as a RMMY judge.
